How To Get People Search Sites Off Your Tail

People-finder sites stockpile and sell information to the curious — often to entities from which you’ve kept the data for a reason. If you’re concerned about your privacy, there are ways to opt out of these search sites.

ZDNet offers ways to remove yourself from several of these sites. Here is a sampling:

*MyLife — Call 1-888-704-1900, press option 2 and once you’re connected with a real person, say you’d like to be removed.

*Spokeo — Search for the site’s page for you, then copy and paste it at this site.

*WhitePages — Find your listing via a web search, then click on the prompt to remove your listing at the bottom left.

Check out the post for information on how to remove yourself from other peoplefinder sites.
