Extreme Couponers Offer Up Some Tips On Scoring Mega Deals

Extreme couponers — normal people who go to extreme cutting and clipping lengths to score huge savings at the supermarket — are known to be crafty beyond the realm of belief. These deal hunters can combine store coupons with outside deals and have clipped themselves to thousands in savings. And now they’re offering up a tip or two for you to save as well.

CNNMoney profiles eight such discount afficionados for some of their best tricks when scouring the coupon sections for deals.

For example, one new extreme couponer starts by searching her Sunday paper for deals, and then moves on to online database Weusecoupons.com.

Another couponer and “newbie” to the game spends four hours a day searching five to 10 newspapers, checking online and even buying coupons.

The best day for one super couponer was when she spent $8.50 to purchase $87 worth of items at Walgreens.
