Of all the things you’d expect to find in a McDonald’s bathroom, the miracle of birth isn’t high on the list. But Newark, N.J. is a place where miracles happen. A police officer came to the rescue of a woman in labor at the restaurant, delivering the two-months-premature boy.
The officer tells the Star-Ledger that he had no special medical training, but was able to manage the ultimate Happy Meal prize:
“I saw the baby’s head and simply maneuvered the child’s body to a position where the mother was able to easily deliver. I am not an EMT, I just pulled from what I remember learning from my academy days.”
The woman and baby were transported to the hospital and are doing fine.
