Target Really Wants You To Notice They've Raised The Price Of Cat Food

We hope this is a case of mismanaged math, and not just some employee with access to the sign-maker thumbing his nose at customers. Don’t be cruel along with raising prices, Target!

Eagle-eyed tipster Kimberly sent this pic in using her Consumerist Tipster iPhone app, snapped at her local Target, announcing that three pounds of Whiskas cat food now costs $4.29, instead of the old $3.99. She writes: “Thanks for the excited sign that you’ve raised cat food prices, Target!”

Thanks, indeed! While some might argue that Target is doing the right thing by alerting customers to a higher price, let’s reserve the signage for moments of reduced price joy, shall we?
