San Francisco Apple Store Employee Forms Union

The latest brainstorm from Apple Geniuses may be to organize and bargain for better pay and benefits. A unionization effort is on in San Francisco, led by a part-time Apple Store employee there.

The Globe and Mail reports the employee, who started the Apple Retail Workers Union anonymously in May, is going public with his efforts in hopes that others around the country will join him.

Emphasizing his movement is in its infancy and identifying its goals only in vague terms, he tells The Globe and Mail:

“There’s definitely no call to action yet. Right now what I hope to gain is to get people to start talking about it and get comfortable with it.”

If you’ve been a member of a union, do you think membership worked to your benefit or disadvantage?
