Sony Names Games It Will Offer PS3, PSP Players To Apologize For Outage

As an apologetic gift to gamers who suffered Sony’s recently concluded PlayStation Network outage and accompanying data breach, Sony will offer players a maximum of four downloadable games — two for PS3 owners and two for those with PSPs. The games come from pre-selected fields of five games for the PS3 and four for the PSP.

On the PlayStation Blog, a Sony spokesman writes that gamers will get 30 days to choose their games once the network is once again fully operational and the games go up for download.

Other stuff in the “I’m sorry” gab bag includes a weekend of free movie rentals, a trial subscription to premium PlayStation Plus and music streaming services, as well as and virtual items for online dollhouse PlayStation Home. Kotaku calculates the maximum value of games and service trials Sony offers up and values it at $104 and change.

If you own a PS3 or PSP, what games will you choose? I recommend Infamous and LittleBigPlanet (over Dead Nation, Super Stardust HD and Wipeout HD + Fury) on PS3, and the portable version of LittleBigPlanet and Killzone Liberation (over ModNation Racers and Pursuit Force) on PSP.
