Court Lets NFL Continue Lockout

After a couple early victories in court by players, the NFL has had its way in recent rulings involving its labor dispute. On Monday the league won a permanent stay of an injunction that forced the league to temporarily end its lockout.

The AP reports that the stay, granted by the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, will allow the league to maintain its work stoppage until the full appeal can be heard. The next hearing is scheduled for June 3. Without the stay, the court reasoned, the league would suffer “some degree of irreparable harm.”
