Government Re-Activates Online Poker Domains To Allow Refunds

Although the government brought the wrath of Olympus down upon law-averting offshore online poker palaces, it’s showing compassion for customers who had money locked up in gambling accounts. Authorities re-activated two previously closed domain names, allowing players to request refunds.

According to ABC News, federal prosecutors expect poker sites to return funds to players. Said a U.S. Attorney:

“No individual player accounts were ever frozen or restrained, and each implicated poker company has at all times been free to reimburse any player’s deposited funds.”

A rep from one poker site said the government is not allowing it to do get the refunds going. Feds say an independent monitor will make sure the companies refund the money.
