A Dead Cow & The 5 Other Most Bizarre Things Passengers Have Tried To Check Onto A Virgin Atlantic Flight

The folks over that the Virgin Atlantic blog recently sent out a request to the staffers working the check-in desks at the airline’s various global destinations. They wanted to know about the strangest items that passengers actually tried to have stowed in the cargo hold, and they compiled a list of bizarre baggage that rivals this one.

Here are the highlights:
*An unwrapped, unpackaged bath tub at JFK
*A pet tarantula hidden in a passenger’s coat, also at JFK airport
*A dead cow wrapped in plastic at — you guessed it — JFK airport
*A bag of cutlery previously stolen from a Virgin Atlantic flight at Delhi airport
*A bag of sand and seawater by a couple who fell in love on the island of Grenada and wanted a memento of the place where they met
*A bag of soil and coconut trees also at Grenada airport

We’re pretty sure that this just goes to show that people that fly out of JFK Airport are, well, batsh*t crazy.
