Look Out For Ways Your Car Can Endanger You

Cars not only speed up and simplify your treks from point to point, they make it easier to skid into danger for which you may not have calculated. AOL offers some pointers about situations you can avoid jeopardizing your safety:

*Don’t fall into road rage one-upmanship. If someone cuts you off or tailgates you, it’s easy to exchange intimidating maneuvers. But doing so can escalate things and risk an unnecessary accident or physical altercation.

*Be firm and direct when dealing with parking lot creeps. Don’t let someone help you with your groceries, and if someone who seems dangerous is lingering in your way, seek out a security guard to walk you to your car or call authorities.

*Keep your radio down, especially if you’re driving in slow-moving traffic. And avoid checking your phone at stoplights. Carjackers may look for distracted, oblivious drivers as easy marks.

If you do a lot of driving, what are your greatest driving fears, and what do you do to make sure they don’t befall you?
