McDonald's To Beef Up Workforce With 50,000 More Employees In April

Confirming that no matter how bad the job market gets, America’s hunger for fast food makes burger-flipping a growth industry, McDonald’s announced plans to hire 50,000 new American employees April 19.

MSNBC reports the hiring spree will boost the fast food giant’s U.S. workforce to 700,000, a 7.7 percent bump. The story notes that the job additions, while prodigious, aren’t all that overwhelming when you consider the company usually adds to its workforce to brace for the busy summer.

A spokesperson said the jobs, a mixture of management crew and managers, will be a combination of permanent and temporary hires.

If you’ve worked in fast food, what do the 50,000 workers have to look forward to?
