EA Makes Video Game Manuals An Endangered Species

Following video game publisher Ubisoft’s decision to ditch paper manuals in most games last year, industry giant EA is following suit, revealing they’re phasing out little-used instruction booklets.

EA tells Kotaku it’s making the shift in order to be more environmentally friendly, which translates to “no one reads them anyway, so why waste the resources?”

The publisher will rely on in-game tutorials and pause-menu references to school players on which buttons do what.

If you play video games, would you miss paper manuals if they went away entirely?
