LimeWire Settles Copyright Case

After a federal court shut down LimeWire with a permanent injunction last year, the defunct peer-to-peer file sharing service settled its copyright infringement case with the National Music Publishers Association.

Unite the Cows reports claims against the company in the case were dismissed in a New York federal court, and it’s understood that both sides will pay their own costs.

LimeWire will face 13 record companies in court May 2, in a hearing that’s expected to determine final damages.
