AT&T Workers Rescue Woman From Burning Building

A pair of AT&T employees were working in a suburban Chicago town yesterday morning when they heard an explosion down the block. But rather than wait for authorities to show up or run for cover, they ran toward the scene to rescue the woman who had been trapped on the building’s second floor.

“We just heard the screaming. That was what made us jump up and run down the road,” one of the AT&T men told Chicago’s ABC7.

The pair were able to reach the site of the explosion in time to rescue the trapped woman and take her to safety before the house was engulfed in flames.

“I was able to climb up there, grab her, bring her down and then carry over to the side,” said the other phone company worker. “Then as we were over there standing by the door he tapped me on the shoulder 30 seconds later and said ‘look’ and the place was gone.”

Luckily, no one else was home at the time of the explosion and, thanks to the AT&T workers, the woman in the house suffered only minor injuries.
