4 Foods That Jumped In Price Last Year

Inflation can hit your refrigerator the hardest. Rising food prices amid stagnant salaries and a stiff job market can make it tougher to make ends meet.

Financial Edge lists four foods that saw significant price gains last year.

Corn shot up 69 percent due to a nearly 5 percent drop in U.S. production due to unfavorable weather. Coffee rose 65 percent, to its highest level in 13 years. Wheat shot up 47 percent due to smaller-than-normal winter wheat acreage and soybeans rose 44 percent due to decreased production.

It seems 2010 was a good year for commodities traders, but a bad one for eaters.
