If you’re willing to go with the 2 year committment instead of 1 year, getting a Tivo direct from the company is the better buy… they’re still running a promo of “Get the Box for free with 2 year committment” (if you decide to cancel, they do prorate the ETF based on number of months remaining in the contract, and you have 30 days to return with no ETF).
I remember waiting and waiting and waiting for TiVo to release the Series 3, and when it finally came out it was something like 10 times the cost of TiVo Premiere listed above. Tossed me straight into the arms of MythTV, and TiVo lost a long-time customer.
