Dismissed Macy's Santa Finds New Gig… At A Bar

Many of you will remember the story from the other day of how a San Francisco Macy’s kicked its long-time Santa to the curb after he made a slightly off-color comment to some adult shoppers. Well it looks like at least someone in the Bay Area has the holiday spirit, because Santa has found new employment where he won’t have to worry about saying something inappropriate.

Starting tomorrow, the San Francisco Santa will be hearing the tipsy wish lists of patrons at Lefty O’Doul’s sports bar on Geary St., right around the corner from the Macy’s that sent Santa packing to the North Pole.

“He’s a really nice guy and he didn’t mean anything bad by it,” said the co-owner of the bar. “I told him he could have twice the pay and a chair twice the size of the one he had at Macy’s and it’s okay to crack jokes… This whole thing is like Miracle on 34th Street, only this time we’re helping Santa out right away.”

If you’re in the San Francisco area and want to sit on Santa’s lap, he’ll be at Lefty O’Doul’s from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. from Dec. 10 to Dec. 24.
