Don't Use A Debt Settlement Agency

Steer clear of debt settlement agencies. A good deal charge unnecessary fees and there’s really nothing they can do legally that you can’t do on your own. Some of them are even outright fraudsters.

Reviewing the records of one debt settlement agency that was forced to close down for falsely claiming to be a non-profit, investigators found that only 1.4% of their customers ever completed the program.

If you feel you really need help getting your bill payments together, find a legitimate, accredited, non-profit credit counselor to work with.
