Kid Gets Kinect-Clocked In The Face

There’s a reason why the instructions on the Xbox Kinect, which allows you to play video games by sensing your gestures, tell you to clear the playing area and make sure you have plenty of elbow room, especially when you are playing with two people. The reason is this video.

You know exactly what’s going to happen. The only question is when.

The length of the video was perfect…I kept waiting and waiting, knowing what was to come, but that didn’t stop the suspense from building. Perfect!

    • theycallmeGinger says:

Yes! I watched with anticipation as the man’s elbow came whipping back, each time threatening to whack anything in its path. And wham! Very satisfying.

  2. MistahFixit says:

*insert David-Caruso-style pun regarding being hit and the word ‘Kinect’*

    I’m lazy today ~.~;

  3. Loias supports harsher punishments against corporations says:

I await the insurance claims purchasers will demand Microsoft pay because of their product.

  4. Torgonius wants an edit button says:

See! Video games DO cause violence!

  5. Angus99 says:

When you turn the sound down, it’s like interpretive dance.

  6. TVGenius says:

And cue the new round of hacky news stories about Kinect injuries….

  7. Destron says:

Meh, I punched my dog in the face with a Wii remote once. Guess he thought I wanted to play and he ran up to me and BAM.

  8. areaman says:

They were both acting like dorks but only the kid got smashed in the face. Unfair.

  9. AllanG54 says:

This would have been great when my kids were young. I could have given them a good shot when they needed it without being brought up on child abuse charges….”hey son, let’s play a game…”

  10. ajmccoll says:

He deserved every inch of elbow.

  11. RancidPolecat2 says:

This is obviously negligence on the part of Microsoft. Is there a lawsuit pending?

  12. ellmar says:

loved the mom (?) who was recording it totally over reacting at the end.

  13. Warren - aka The Piddler on the Roof says:

Oh my! That is just awful! We need to ban these dangerous video games immediately before someone else gets hurt, or maybe even KILLED!

  14. IT-Princess: I work in IT, you owe me $1 says:

Clearly Microsoft has a poorly designed product. Wii has something similar and there have never been injuries. I smell a class action lawsuit soon.

  15. Mike says:

Good for the kid, builds character when you have to recover from a good pop in the face.

Kids are soft today, they play indoors too much. I have met kids who have hardly played any sports in real life. When I was a kid NES games only kept you occupied for so long, then you had to go out and actually play sports…and get hit in the face. I always loved the sound the kickball made when you popped someone good, and how it would go straight up in the air after a good, solid head shot. Man, I think I am going to go to the park and find some kids to throw balls at.

    • Happy Tinfoil Cat says:

Don’t menace the kids in the park with your balls!!!

    • catnapped says:

Don’t forget dodgeball! Nothing like a good concussion to build character!

    • Kate says:

It’s not as safe as it used to be. I grew up in a small town, kids could go anywhere by themselves. My daughter grew up in a big city – I didn’t feel safe letting her do almost anything by herself and I work regular hours – so it’s not like she could run around all day after school and during the summer like I did.

    One of these days, Laura…

  17. Buddha says:

There’s a reason why the instructions say to make sure your arms length away from the other person.

  18. Happy Tinfoil Cat says:

See, adults _can_ beat kids at video games. “TKO goes to Baldy”

  19. JamesBE says:

Okay, so the stupid thing about the Kinnect is that they have to stand that close together. The “square” that registers them both is very small.

Expect many videos like this one.
