Ha ha — Our dog lies down like the one in your pic (we call that position Frog Dog) and has a tail that looks exactly like that dog’s, too.

I wish I could bring my dog to work.

      • Hoot says:

One of my dogs does as well! I had never seen any of my dogs do that in the past so I asked the vet about it when we first got him. He said that purebreeds are more likely to sit that way. I don’t claim the validity of that statement but that’s what he said. Although my other dog, a true mutt, has kind of picked up on the habit over the years.

        • ElizabethD says:

Our Frog Dog is a complete mutt. Breeds she probably has in her DNA are pitbull, beagle, German shepherd, possibly boxer. We had previously owned purebred dogs (rescued ones) — pointers and beagles — and this was the first time a dog of ours lay down this way! I have seen pugs do it, too.

Nice Rhodesian Ridgeback hiding under the bed.

      • Cantras says:

My dad’s mechanic had dogs that were half Rhodesian Ridgeback, and half pit bull. The hair on their spine stood up… then whirled around and laid flat… then picked up… they looked like they had terrible cowlicks.

“Awww. It’s a good thing they’re going to be big, all the other dogs are gonna make fun of them.”

Hmm, I need a new laptop – and feedback on that touch screen netbook? Interested in putting linux on it. I’m kind of upset that Asus is no longer shipping their netbooks WITHOUT windows. Why pay for a license I’m never going to use?

    4. bishophicks says:

My dog sits like that, too. We call the position “turkey legs” because he’s a 20 pound dog and his leg is the same size and shape as the drumstick on a big Thanksgiving turkey.

I get hungry just looking at him.
