Morning Deals are purely an informational service for the readers. Consumerist receives nothing in exchange for their posting.
If you have a tip for Morning Deals, send it to tips@consumerist.com, and be sure to put “morning deals” in the subject line.

Most of these links lead to out-of-stock or expired deals. This was posted less than 30 minutes ago and the Overstock deal has expired. Most of the clothes are sold out or only available in XS or XL sizes.
The deals post is usually close to the first of the day. I’m convinced they write it the day before and flag it in the system for posting the next morning.
They don’t actually go find the deals themselves in any case. You’ll notice the links are to other deal aggregator sites, so the deals here are at least a full step removed from the actual offer. In this post alone they reference:
buxr.com
slickdeals.net
dealzon.com
techbargains.com
dealhack.com
dealio.com
dealnews.com
My favorite site, among the many aggregator sites, happens to be dealtaker.com. It has an active member contribution rate and the deals are well-maintained. It’s probably a second-tier site as far as size goes, but the deals are almost always fresh and valid.
Slickdeals is a decent site too – but sometimes there is the “slickdeals effect” where items sell out in a hurry. The Cabela’s deal was there yesterday morning.
That’s the nature of posting deals every morning at a set time, most of them happened well before this post, and if they are good, sold out quickly.
if you’re really looking for deals, i recommend going to the source of these and checking on a regular basis.
