Meet The Gold-Dusted Cheese Sandwich You'll Never Pay $172 For

Tired of slapping some Kraft singles on Wonder Bread? Have an extra $172 in your pocket? If so, then chef Martin Blunos has what your hankering for — The world’s most expensive cheese sandwich.

While the sandwich features a drizzle of 100-year-old balsamic vinegar, slices of quail’s egg, heirloom black tomato, epicure apple, fresh figs, all between slices sourdough bread sprinkled with gold dust, the main (read: priciest) ingredient is the white truffle cheddar cheese which Blunos had made specifically for the sandwich. The fromage alone will set you back over $140.

Explain yourself Blunos:

We Brits are known to love our cheese sandwiches, and here’s one that not only comes with a royal price tag but is fit for the banqueting table.

The white truffle fuses beautifully with the West Country Farmhouse Cheddar and the edible gold leaf gives it a really special look.

In fact, washed down with a bottle of Krug, what more could you want?
