We know times are tough and many of you are looking for work. So even if you haven’t given much thought to the idea of managing a bordello in Berlin, now might be your chance to get in on the ground floor of a (somewhat) recession-proof industry… in Germany.
Over on eBay, the Bordell im Kietz von Berlin-Rixdorf in Berlin is attempting to fill a vacancy at the managerial level by auctioning the job off. And the starting bid is only around $3.21.
For those of us who barely remember our 9th grade German (or who never took it at all), theGloss.com provides what appears to be a decent translation of the eBay ad.
The bordello describes itself as “One of the oldest of Berlin’s neighborhood brothels — open since 1980 in a good neighborhood in a beautiful restaurant type old building.” 1980? One would think a city as old as Berlin would have older houses of ill repute than that…
Regardless, the winning bidder will take over a space with a complete bar, Mens/Ladies bathrooms plus separate shower room with washing machine, 3 separate and decorated bedrooms with sinks, 1 cinema room with small stage and more.
So if you’re in the mood to put others in the mood for making love, then step right up and place your bid.

Resist the donut!
I’ve never wanted to run a bordello, but I’d like to have a job as a quality control inspector, doing random sampling of the product . . . .
You’d be surprised how un-fun that becomes when it’s a job.
Some guys I knew who worked as bouncers at a “gentlemen’s club” used to say that on Day One, everybody thought they had the best job ever, but by Day Three they were bored out of their skulls.
What’s not to like about this job…lol
Just in time for Oktoberfest.
Not to sound nit picky, but don’t most job counselors recommend AGAINST falling for “pay to get a job” scams?
That is generally very good advice. For some reason, this feels like the exception to the rule.
I wonder how quickly I can learn German?
You aren’t really buying a job, more like a store. Presumably you pay rent, but I’m not really clear
Who needs German when you speak “the international language”?
WHAT? No shipping?
for rent, not sale
“1980? One would think a city as old as Berlin would have older houses of ill repute than that…”
Not post-WWII.
“Qu’est-ce que tu fais bordel?” is my favorite French idiom.
