Don’t buy your child death-trap clothing for the upcoming school year. Yes, certain articles of clothing could endanger your child while at school. Avoid drawstrings, which can get caught on anything from doors to playground equipment. Footwear is also important, since your child will be running around at recess and participating in gym class. The ever-popular Heely shoes are the arch-nemesis in this category. [Consumer Reports Safety]

Does it make me a bad person that I would laugh at a kid if they tripped while Heely’ing around a store?

“be sure to cut any drawstrings from jackets and hooded sweatshirts.”

Safer just to prevent your children from being educated entirely. Clearly it’s too dangerous.

Seriously, WTF? Cutting drawstrings from hoodies and jackets? That’s way over the top. Why not wrap you kid’s head in bubble wrap before sending them off to school, just to be sure?
