Yoko: "Don't Hold Your Breath" Waiting For Beatles On iTunes

While the overwhelming majority of 20th century rock music is available for digital download through iTunes or some other online outlet, the Beatles catalog continues to remain a holdout. And Yoko Ono, widow of John Lennon, said yesterday that it could be a while before the Fab Four joins the digital download crowd.

“[Apple CEO] Steve Jobs has his own idea and he’s a brilliant guy,” Said Yoko on Thursday. “There’s just an element that we’re not very happy about, as people. We are holding out… Don’t hold your breath… for anything.”

The 2007 resolution of a trademark dispute between Apple Corps., the band’s holding company, and Apple Inc. had given some fans hope that digital downloads would be on the horizon. Unfortunately, Apple Corps. has been unable to come to agreeable terms with EMI Group, which is responsible for licensing the band’s music.
