Nintendo Shows 3DS But Doesn't Tell

Nintendo did a dastardly thing at yesterday’s E3 press conference, showing off its hot upcoming 3DS portable gaming system but refusing to announce a price or release date.

The company announced the glasses-free 3D-graphics-blessed device in March but now has proven it’s actually put the thing together and let conference attendees get their hands on it. The 3DS has three cameras, a motion sensor and is capable of playing Hollywood-quality 3D movies.

The only thing working against Nintendo may be consume fatigue, given the company releases a DS update just about every year, and if the system comes this year it will be the second in 2010, after the oddball DSi XL, which is a super-sized DSi.
