Kindles Will Be Available At Your Local Target Next Week

After a pilot program selling Kindles at some Targets succeeded back in April, Amazon is ready to spread the Kindle virus to all Targets starting Monday. But it might not be the best time to buy one, since there’s reportedly an updated model on the horizon.

The Kindle will be available at Target stores for the same $259 price charged on Amazon.com.

Over the weekend it as reported that Amazon has plans to release a slimmer Kindle with a sharper screen. But just last week, Amazon denied rumors that they’d be producing a color version in the near future.

Additionally, netbook pioneer Asus announced on Monday that they would be releasing a low-cost e-reader device of its own.

If you don’t own a reader but plan on getting one someday, will it be a Kindle or something else?
