Kleen Kanteen Sends New Bottle Cap, Packs A Snack

Omar recently had a great experience with Kleen Kanteen, makers of fine, Meg-approved stainless steel water bottles. He tells Consumerist that they replaced the cap of his bottle free of charge. They even enclosed a delicious snack for him in the package. What? Amazing!

I had a very pleasant experience with a customer service rep at Klean Kanteen, which in this economy seems to be getting rarer and rarer, so I thought I would share it with the Consumerist hive-mind.

I contacted Klean Kanteen to inquire about the cost of getting a replacement cap for my Kanteen, which I had purchased about a year and a half ago. Kanteens come with a one year warranty against manufacturer’s defect, with replacements parts requiring that you send in the damaged goods; this was clearly stated on their website. But the rep surprised me by not only responding promptly to my inquiry, but agreeing to ship me a replacement cap free of charge without even seeing the broken cap, even though I clearly stated my bottle was out of warranty. And when the replacement cap arrived, there was even a Clif bar in the package!

Guess which company I’ll be buying my bottles from in the future?
