Blockbuster Doesn't Have Game I Want In Stock, Sends It To Me Instead

Blockbuster and other brick-and-mortal rental stores seemingly give you fewer reasons to patronize them all the time, but Christopher discovered a step in the positive direction by the company: He says if the store doesn’t have what you’re looking for, it will send it to you and let you keep it longer than a normal rental.

He writes:

A new Blockbuster service that they offer is the ability to mail movies or video game rentals to you if they do not have them in the store. IE: if you came in today, like I did, to rent Battlefield 2: only to discover it was rented completely out, blockbuster can take your rental money there and then mail you out a copy of Battlefield 2 from their warehouse. The guy told me it would take about three days to get to my house, and then I would have 7 days, which is 2 days longer than the normal rental. I was also able to return the game at the store or just mail it back.

I was kinda impressed that this was now offered at Blockbuster.

Have you taken advantage of Blockbuster’s send-what-we-don’t stock policy? It seems like a solid way to combat the stigma of a weak in-store selection.
