Miami-Bound American Airlines Flight Diverted To Phoenix Due To Generator Problem

Two days after an American Airlines flight from Chicago to Colorado had to make an emergency landing because of “pressurization problems,” the airline had to divert a Miami-bound plane to Phoenix because of a generator problem.

American Airlines Flight 476 was en route from San Francisco to Miami when the Boeing 767 began to experience problems with one of its generators. The plane was diverted to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

An spokesperson for the airline says all 225 passengers would be placed on later flights.

This is just the latest red x on American’s report card. Their flight attendants and ground crew are on the verge of a strike and the FAA has proposed a record level of fines against the airline for maintenance violations and shortcomings.
