Are those con-doms from China, by any chance?
@GitEmSteveDave_IsSlacking: Was just wondering the same.
@GitEmSteveDave_IsSlacking: Hey GI!
Condom sample deal has expired…
@Jfielder23: wow, that was over much more quickly than I would have expected.
@Chris Walters:
[www.instantrimshot.com]
@Chris Walters: “Free samples! We’ve got a large supply of samples! 7 of them! Get them while we….. oops, nevermind, they’re all gone…”
Are the coupons for Petco good on all purchases or only for grooming services? Judging from the wording on the coupon, it doesn’t look like I could use the $10 off $50 to buy my spoiled yellow lab a bag of her super expensive food.
Krispy Kreme is just for active military.
@apd09: No, the press release says “veterans and active military personnel”
@changed my name: that still leaves “unemployed consumerist commenters” donutless.
Some of these deals for vets are ticking me off by demonstrating their lack of knowledge about the military. Several of them said you had to show a military ID (or veterans org membership card) when most veterans don’t have an ID and don’t join the Legion or VFW. I spent 10 years active duty & reserves, but, since I didn’t retire, I don’t get a government ID and I never saw the value in joining the veterans groups.
I’m sure they’ll let me chow down for free, but I find it irritating that they didn’t ask someone in the know before putting out the offer.
@RandomHookup: Too bad they won’t accept our dd214′s eh? That’s about all I have left of my service.
@hewhoroams: I went to their website and the DD214 is on the list of ids they’ll take. Here’s the website, [www.applebees.com]
@Kaine: Good to hear. The original list seemed overly narrow. I know they will usually make good, but there’s that *one* manager who sticks to the letter of the list. And as consumers, we *know* we are supposed to read and follow the rules.
I’m actually going to a smaller place where there shouldn’t be the lines, but their list said “bring your military ID”.
If they asked me for my input, I’d tell them “bring anything that shows you were in the military – orders, pictures, ID”
Queue the “idiot manager thinks you’re not really a veteran” story in 3..2..1..
Who wouldn’t want free wholesale BJ’s for 60 days?!?
Ooh, sexist. What about brides-to-be who are about to be deployed?
starwarsshop.com was for Tuesday only
The Petco coupons are for use in Petco Salon & Grooming only. Please update
@changed my name: Most don’t, but a couple of local ones do. Actually, for the Applebees one — the only qualifier I have is a photo. I have some of me in uniform, but not many and I had to dig to find them. If they said discharge papers, orders or documents showing you served or a medal or patch, fine — I have all that, but they are a little restrictive if they decided to be picky.
I appreciate what they are doing, but wish they had thought through what they asked for. Someone in the system, a manager is going to deny a vet a meal because of a technicality.
@changed my name: If all they need is a uniform picture, I could potentially use my high school JROTC picture. Not that I would, but it looks authentic enough especially in the Class A dress uniform.
@TheMonkeyKing: LOL!! They give you free donuts for running!
I’m sorry, but that is really funny.
@gerrylum: Yeah, I haven’t been to one in years, but last time I was there they just handed out a donut to everyone waiting to order.
@Kimaroo – Fortified with Kittydus Purrularis: The donuts are part of the race: run two miles from NC State university’s campus to the Krispy Kreme, eat a dozen donuts, then run two miles back. In under an hour.
