For many users, this includes lack of access to not just e-mail and IM, but also address books unless saved to the SIM.

<s>T-Mobile has been promising that service will be restored soon, but a quick Twitter search shows that service is still out.</s> T-Mobile e-mailed us this statement, which they also posted to their customer forums.

T-Mobile and Danger/Microsoft continue to urgently work to restore impacted services to Sidekick, and deliver them to our customers as quickly as possible. Following is a status update for our valued customers:

Web browsing was restored Saturday afternoon, and the teams have been working through the night since the service disruption started to enable additional functions such as IM, social networking applications and email as quickly as possible.

While we anticipate a significant portion of data services to be restored by Monday, some richer data services may lag. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and appreciate your patience as we work hard with Danger/Microsoft to resolve this issue. We will continue to keep our customers updated as we have news to share.

Yeah, great, but someone needs to console Perez Hilton in the meantime.

Affected customers can receive a credit on their bills by calling customer service—some users report credits of up to $25.

Are you a Sidekick user? Share your experiences in the comments.

Seriously, the keyboards on the Sidekicks are the best around. I hate the teeny, tiny little keys all scrunched up against each other on all of the more "hip" phones. More than that, I loathe the touch keys on the iPhone. So, the Sidekick wins my vote.

Yes, a lot of hipster teenagers own Sidekicks. A lot of d-bag yuppies own iPhones. Does that make all iPhone users d-bag yuppies?

I've had my Sidekick for almost 2 years now, I am a grown, married adult, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I wanted a phone that had a good-sized keyboard for texts, emails, etc. I have friends all over the country who can text/IM during the day but most can't take 20 minutes to have a phone conversation because of work, etc. It's easy to use and has features that a lot of other "regular" phones don't.

Maybe you are confusing Sidekicks with Disney phones.

I can confirm this. As a Sidekick 2008 user, me and all my friends using Sidekick has been affected. No access to data at all for the past three days (excluding Web access as of today, though). I got really lucky and got a whole month's worth of credit ($29.99) so try the old adage--if an agent refuses to give you satisfactory credit, hang up and try another agent.

As for the insulting comments about getting an adult phone, etc... grow up. I'm Deaf, and many of my friends who are Deaf use Sidekick's because they are more accessible and easier for us to use. They also have a solid plan available. So, please don't say rude and judgmental things about Sidekick and/or their owners.

Thanks.
