Consumerist Videodrome #1
It's Consumerist Videodrome #1! Wherein I make several important announcements about new changes coming to the site and show off my new cat.
Announcements:
1. Add your email to your commenter profile. (see this post, "If You Do Not Add A Working Email To Your Profile By Sunday You Will Lose Your Account." We are getting a new site probably Oct 27 and this is part of it.
2. First Consumerist Meetup, Wed Nov 4th, NYC. The "Internets Celebrities" (not us, these other guys who make cool videos like this one about check cashing places and this one about bodegas) will be showing their videos and talking about the joys of quarter water.
3. Observe giant plaque.
4. New cat! His name is Tigre.
5. Cash4Gold hit with class action lawsuit, dramatic reading ensues.

Comments:
@SkokieGuy: Tiigrayye was revealed around the 40% mark. Am I to assume that your attention fell so sharply after the kitty pimping that you thought the video had ended?
@valueofaloonie: I don't know.. they haven't even sent out anything.
Unless somehow I'm out of the loop.. There were lots of troubles with that survey, so I wouldn't be surprised if I thought I was on it.. but I'm really not.
Do we need the Cone of Silence?
@Kimaroo - No Stars Upon Thars: Haha yes this is the first video of Ben I've watched and it was somewhat jarring. Consumerist, though at times snarky and silly, is still like no-jacket required work attire. This threw me off.
Much love though!
@Kimaroo - No Stars Upon Thars: *pushes up glasses* There are no more cones. You have to have a power for that now.
I@Radi0logy: I find it funny how so many people here are saying Tigre looks just like their cat. It's a cat. With very few exceptions they ALL look the same.
@Kimaroo - No Stars Upon Thars: Yeah, he's clearly going to be somebody's Dorky Dad, isn't he? In a very nice way, of course (mine kind of was too).
@Kimaroo - No Stars Upon Thars: I was thinking "affected", but "white" sums it up pretty well. Ben reminds me of those guys I knew in college who described themselves as "quirky" and did really stupid dances when they got drunk at the hippie parties.
Tigre looks like a Bengal. Yes? Bengal?
@Lincolnsbeard33: Okay, I was wrong. That was stinkin' cute.
Of course, that's a kitten so it doesn't count.
@SkokieGuy: I admit that I only lasted about 30 more seconds afterward. Clearly, Ben needs to learn the art of keeping viewers in suspense all the way to the end.
Ben, you remind me of one of my German Professors. That is all I will say about that.
But on a more important note, you need to have a meet-up further down the East coast (or slightly west of the east coast, but still in the eastern time-zone). Namely, you need to have a meet-up in Knoxville. For obvious reasons.
@Homerjay is utterly alone.: My two look dramatically different from eachother:
Alfred
Bastien
So as you can see.. Bastien looks like Tigre, but Alfred does not.
(Thanks for giving me more excuses to post pictures of my kitties. : ) )
@Kimaroo - No Stars Upon Thars: Ah, we have one too. Tank. She's my fiance's cat. It took her 2 years to warm up to him, and 3 years to stop considering me the evil stepmommy. I just dunno about that cat...
@h3llc4t has a slow work day: Hm.. interesting. Bstien is always very friendly to people.. but he loves me the most. I think I'm "his female" even though he um.. isn't as male as he used to be.. if you catch my drift.
We've only had him a little over a year now.. he was a stray.
@Xerloq says Can I has Friday?: In keeping it so it parallels Captain Duvel Moneycat's structure, it should be:
Earl T-Gray.

T-Gray, or Tigre? How do you spell the kitty's name?
