$12.6 Million Seems Like A Lot For A TV, But Think Of The Savings

10005 views

Unbeatable Sale, Inc. is offering a deal on a 47-inch HDTV befitting of its name on Amazon. The company is charging $12,555,000 for the TV which seems a bit outrageous until you consider the following factors:

*You save nearly $3.8 million off the original price of $16.3 million.

*The TV is in freakin' 1080p. So GREAT picture.

Unfortunately the TV is not available for Amazon's free Super Saver Shipping because it comes from a third party vendor. Oh, and if you've enabled one-click buying on your Amazon account you may want to stay away from that link.

12 million for an Olevia? I wouldn't pay a dime over 7,500,000!

user-pic

But... But... I found lots of deals that beat this.

Does this mean it's not an "unbeatable sale"?

user-pic

74% of people who view this item buy it. And they say consumer spending is down!

user-pic

More disturbing are the stats on that item. 74% of people ultimately end up buying it!

user-pic

Wait.. does it come with little gremlins that will make sure that I always get the remote, and not my husband? Or does it make sure that ALL of the shows that I want to watch will always get recorded, regardless of power or cable outage, or fuzzy cable connection? Does it still work in a hurricane Ike power outage situation?

Will it put my favorite shows back on the air that have been unfairly cancled?!

If not, then it's totally not worth it.

user-pic

I actually like Olevia's, but sadly they went out of business.. can't imagine why, if they charge prices like these! :)

user-pic

Just go with the 65 inch it's got a savings of $12,550,300 over this one. Course it surely isn't made by magical elves as this one must be.

user-pic

Retailmenot has a 10% off coupon at Amazon...You can be the TRUE coupon commando if you use this to buy and save $1.26 million on this purchase.

user-pic

At least the shipping is free!

user-pic

At least they're offering free shipping

user-pic

I am searching feverishly for a price match guarantee where if you find the same product for less they will match the price and give you 10% of the difference. Please, let there be a price match.

user-pic

@lehrdude: Don't forget to buy the bundle of the television for $12,555,000.00 and the 2 meter HDMI Cable for $0.03. combine that with the 10% coupon and this is a deal too good to pass up.

user-pic

Funny that the model number is "747" considering for that price you could actually buy an airplane.

user-pic

I didn't realize Amazon had switched to Zimbabwean Dollars.

user-pic

Anyone look at the "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought"? The 4th item is a 100 pack of condoms!

user-pic

For $12,555,000, Oprah would probably do her show in your living room.

user-pic

Thank you, Consumerist and crazy Amazon retailer, for bringing some sunshine into my otherwise blah day.

This has got to be a money laundering scheme, right?

user-pic

@redrolla: yeah, that's ma fault. This be Avon Barksdale.

user-pic

Truly an unbeatable sale

(great user name for a great price :) )

just like the price of gas, the price of HDTV's will be going up this year, just didn't think it would be so soon

user-pic

Maybe it's that expensive because it includes Monster Cables?

user-pic

Hey, look at the combo deal, if you get the set, then the HD cable is only $0.01

Its a great deal!!!!

user-pic

The lowest price of this TV new was $1560.89 back in May 2009.

Might be a real deal for the government. I hear they like spending millions on a toilet seat. Or did you all forget?

user-pic

It would not let me put more than 4 of them in my shopping cart.

user-pic

@Skaperen: Oh, and before you say "pics or it didn't happen" ... [phil.ipal.org]

I've heard that the reason things like this wind up on Amazon is because an item goes out of stock, and it's apparently easier or more beneficial to set an Amazon.com price so ridiculously high that noone will buy it than to have the item listed as "out of stock" until it becomes available again.

user-pic

Looks like they've fixed the price now, but some of the left over comments are priceless!

Rather small for a 747 at $12.5 million, October 9, 2009

I was so happy when UPS flew the item to my door. My very own 747i. The "i" stands for "incredible!" Of course, I was expecting a much larger 747 than the one I received... 747s are usually slightly bigger than 47 inches diagonally... I hopped in the cockpit and broke the screen. Still, by saving $3.8 million, marked down from $16.3 million...by Grapthar's hammer... What a savings.

Wow, the best 12 Million and change I have ever spent. The colors are so lifelike!! I mean considering that I could probably get the actors from my favorite shows and movies to perform them live in my own living room for less money than the cost of this TV, the next best thing would be to buy this TV. The contrast ratio is improperly stated in the specs listed on here. The contrast ratio is actually eleventy billion to one!! That means that the dark scenes actually create miniature black holes in your living rooms which go around sucking all bits of lights that might interfere with your viewing experience, even though these same black holes sucked my newborn out of the crib and probably deposited it in some other dimension this only heightened my viewing enjoyment!
The only downfall is that I had a hard time finding a bracket that would fit it. The only solution I could find was to buy two homeless guys to hold it up at the desired pitch and angle for optimum viewing.
