Join Us At The Consumers Union Annual Meeting

1495 views

Want to meet Ben and Meg, get a preview of our new design, tour the Consumer Reports labs, and have a chance to take home a brand new Consumerist t-shirt? You can do all of that and more at the Consumers Union annual meeting, on October 17th. Admission is free, but space is limited, so if you'd like to join us, read on.

The annual meeting takes place at Consumers Union's headquarters in Yonkers, on October 17th, starting at 10am. The meeting begins with presentations from CU's Board and staff experts, followed by light snacks, and the lab tour. This year, for the first time, the lab tour will include a Consumerist presentation hosted by Meg and Ben.

There are several tour groups, and not all of them go to every demo, so please make sure to arrive on time, and let the greeters know you want to join one of the tours that includes the Consumerist presentation. If those groups are full by the time you arrive, you'll still get to tour the CU labs.

We can't provide transportation, but the office is easy to get to by car or train. Here are the directions.

Will Captain Duvel Moneycat make an appearance at the Consumerist presentation, and can his fans bring Starbucks oatmeal buckets for autographing?

I wish I lived in NYC, but alas. Nay. Will there be live blogging of the event on Consumerist?

@pecan 3.14159265: YES! Consumers Union needs moar Moneycat!

OK, while I like the idea of a T-Shirt, I think we all know what I REALLY want.

So just to help them out, do the lab coats run large or small? I'm between a M and L in woot! tshirts, but if more accurate measurements are needed, I will provide.

You ARE posting a guard outside the room storing the CU lab coats, correct? I predict many frenetic attempts by certain fans (okay, fine, one frenetic fan) to acquire one by any means necessary.

@Trai_Dep: How awful! Well, I will volunteer to guard their coat/cloak room. It's the least I can do while all the witnesses, I mean visitors are out of sight.

@GitEmSteveDave_ForgivesChris4ThePizza: curse those damn american apparel shirts... medium is too small, and large is too big.

Will you be having a public sale of these mythical shirts? And maybe a public presentation of GESD's labcoat?

@Con Seannery: Consumerist, If you're having a public sale of t-shirts (and I will buy one instantly), please remember to make cute girly shirts too! We can be fiscally responsible AND fashionable.
