Skullcandy Finally Sends Out Replacement Buds
Wentao, who had been waiting over half a year for a replacement set of earbuds from Skullcandy, wrote in with an update:
Almost exactly three hours after the article was published, I received a call from Skullcandy. I was told I would received my replacement plus one extra pair of the same model before I leave the country. The person I talked to told me his name was Brian, and they had 12 people working there (i.e., not just Joe). lol. Thanks, Wentao

I am currently in the midst of waiting on a replacement pair of headphones. I have been waiting since May and have e-mailed them 4 times with no response and talked to the Canadian rep for Skullcandy and was promised a follow up. Guess what? Nothing.....Too bad as I thought I was buying something worth it's money acdording to those who recommended their products. Dollar store headphones would last longer. I will never buy their products again.
I have been waiting for a replacement pair of lowriders since May. I have sent 4 e-mails, no response, talked to their Canadian Rep and still nothing. I am really getting annoyed and fed up with it all. I usually try to spend a little more to get a so-called better product. I have had dollar store headphones that have lasted longer. Too bad.
The unfortuante thing about this is that SkullCandy is unlikely to make any real change. They didn't atttempt to contact several other people commenting on the same page about similar experiences (myself included). It shows that they're just trying to save face and still really don't give a crap about honoring their warranty.
I had an incredibly positive experience getting replacement earbuds from Skull Candy a year ago. It was no more than a few weeks of waiting, and they gave me a brand new package while the buds came OEM from Amazon when I made the initial purchase. Unfortunately I left the buds in a lecture hall days later and never say them again.
Okay..I don't know a lot about ordering a new pair of buds..But I have to rant this here. These ear buds are the bomb and are excellent quality. But they last like a dogs' thought. I have purchased well over four of these headphones. Once from the headphones itself taking a crap. Then after wards me losing the ear piece part itself. Which I fixed with my newer pair with adhesive glue. But then they start to rip. You need to handle them like a baby unless you want to fish out another 29.99$ for a new pair. I'm searching for a site that sells just the replacement rubber ear pieces. Then I'd be set to go. Let me know if anyone finds a site that sells.

Even without that follow-up, anyone that read the last article could tell they had at least taken notice. Three, maybe four blatant astroturfers?
"Skullcandy has a great team that really takes care of their customers and wants every customer satisfied. If there is any issue feel free to call skullcandy or get on with their live chat. They will take care of you i know cause i have not had any problems with my warranties. But i do imagine that it is possible for problems to be out there. I eat, breathe, and sleep skullcandy!!!!!!! Listen to skullcandy!" (Emphasis mine.)
