heels detaching from a shoe and gas grills being a fire hazard are probably the most ironic and hilarious to watch happen to someone else. yes i know, i'm evil. but really...take flammable grill add in homer simpson and you've got someone to blame for the great chicago fire

Don't companies make ANYTHING right anymore?!?

user-pic

@HogwartsAlum: So you want a weekly list of items that haven't been recalled?

user-pic

Drawstrings on children's clothes have been a no-no for at least 15 years. Do these companies think that they can put them on the market and no one will notice? I mean, you have to intentionally put a drawstring on a piece of clothing. It doesn't just appear after wearing one or two times.

safety hazard or not.... leather shag rugs scare me just by existing

Name one thing that isn't hazardous---the very air we breathe is potentially hazardous to our health....SALIVA is a choking hazard, if you don't swallow it right..

@Laura Northrup: Technically, it still does cook food-it just cooks you too.

user-pic

@HogwartsAlum: In many cases it is an over abbundance of caution. If someone calls up and says that the heel on the shoe broke, they may do their own internal research and determine that it is cheaper to recall the devices than it would be to do payouts for people that injured themselves. In other cases, the manufacturer may have made some unauthorized changes which prompted the recalls.

CPSC announces about 370 recalls per year, not too bad for the 1000s of different products that are pushed into the marketplace every month.

Anything named "Psyclone" should be staid away from.

Other than the fact that new parents are seemingly the most gullible and will buy anything, why would any company want to make anything for kids?

Charles David Women's Shoes (Nordstrom) - Heels can detach

Figures. Of course if you spend more than $700 on shoes they WILL fall apart faster than my Payless ones...

user-pic

Black & Decker has had a bad history with their grasshog trimmers. This is their 3rd recall in a handful of years?

user-pic

OJ Thermostats-- Stabs you, only works in white SUVs.

user-pic

@catastrophegirl: I can't even picture this product. I would like some kind of verification that it exists, rather than somebody making it up and sticking it on the list just to be funny.

@magic8ball: follow the link above. there are pictureS in multiple colors!!!!

B&D News Flash. The Orange replacement line caps on the Grasshog only reduce the chance of decapitating the neighbor's dog - they don't eliminate it.

I got my replacement Orange cap during the first recall in 2007. It still flies off occasionally and lands about 10 feet away. When I was using it with the old Black cap, my neighbors would hide the pets and children: one time I found the Black cap three houses down after it flew off.

@JGKojak...and often found in Vegas hotel rooms menacing guests!
