Quick! Stock Up On Ben & Jerry's Before This Sale Expires!
We were going to list this in tomorrow's Morning Deals, but decided the bargain was just too good to hold off posting: Harris Teeter has reduced the price on all of its Ben & Jerry's pints, from $3.99 to $3.99.
Here's a bigger picture demonstrating how many times someone was forced to announce this worthless sale. We should be surprised that the employee didn't notice the error, but we're not.

@changed my name: You just have to work the coupon system. When Harris Teeter runs their "super doubles" or "triples" coupon events, that is when you stock up.
@changed my name: When they have a good sale combined with a coupon promotion, though, you can really clean up! I've had plenty of things come up free after they've tripled a coupon on top of a sale.
@edebaby: I was going to say the same thing. Kroger does this too, highlighting their "everyday value" prices or something.
@Erik_says_this: That is some good shit. But, after eating a container...my pants & shorts don't fit the same. :-(
@wrjohnston19283: Just what I was thinking. Our Target also highlights non-sale prices for items that were in their circular. In that case, the sticker says "As Advertised" instead of "Sale".
More stores are now putting an extra yellow sticker on their products, which consumers have learned to associate with a sale. Some shoppers grab the product without checking for savings. The rest of us get our time wasted looking for a bargain that doesn't exist.
Hoping for a consumer backlash on this.
@Eat A Peach: We refer to our Charlotte, NC, area Harris Teeter stores as "The Hairy Teat"... the prices are deplorable, but you can't stop going back.
@edebaby: $3.99 for a pint of ice cream is not "value"! Yeah, it's good stuff, but it's not a "value".
@rainbowsandkittens: I refer to it as the hairy peeter.
I use them for convenience only, their prices are usually pretty terrible.
Good point! I have seen some supermarkets in my area "repeat" the regular price in larger type in what appears to be an attempt to make people think it's a sale.
This is nothing. I've been forced to put sale tags on Rubbermaid storage totes (that aren't actually discounted) plenty of times at Canadian Tire. How many times?
Thirty six out of the last forty two weeks. Twenty seven of them consecutively. It's scheduled to continue to go on sale for at least the next seven weeks in a row.
Each week, for eight different products, I have to put up the same little yellow tags, and then the following week, pull them all off the shelves. I do this over, and over, and over. The futility of it is staggering.
@rainbowsandkittens: i want to know how many consumerists are in Charlotte... Harris Teeter doesn't have amazing prices, but i can always get what i need, and they're a lot closer than anything else - the next-closest thing is a dingy little Food Lion in a neighborhood off of Providence (a mile or 2 morth of Arboretum)
@_NARC_: Agreed. In the smaller markets I see them for upwards of $4 all the time. We'd be lucky to find them for $3.50.

Employee probably noticed and brought it to management's attention only to be told to go back and get their job done.
