@SuparnaBabalas: They mostly do burgers.. but the tacos are more like a side item.
I hate their tacos but there are some people that just love them.. They're too greasy for me.
@MostlyHarmless: If you actually DO want Ben & Jerry's I know that Target has them on sale (in select stores I am assuming) for $2.50. Definitely picked a few up myself!
@Kimaroo - 20% More Kitty Added!: They are like eating deep fried cat food from a can. But they have this weird, delicious appeal to them.
@SuparnaBabalas: JiB has long had a varied menu of traditional burgers, asian food (they were selling teriyaki bowls in the 1980's), mexican food and the occasional fusion item (eg, the chicken fajita pita). The tacos in question are their 2 for 99¢ item. They are about 5" in diameter, folded completely flat (about 1 cm thick), and griddled to a greasy crisp. The meat is mystery, and there's a half slice of american cheese and some lettuce is jammed in the remaining space. They're a staple of midnight snack runs and hangover recovery. A cheap breakfast on the run is 2 of these tacos and a breakfast jack sandwich for a total of $1.98 before tax.
@SuparnaBabalas: They're like their own food group: grease. The taco is assembled and then put into the fryer. Normally they add some shredded lettuce, but I've seen it go into the fryer as well. They're 2 for 99 cents (or .99 cents if you work for Verizon) so they're cheap. They have a maximum of 10 minutes to be eaten before they're just not worth the pain.
I enjoy them, but in a Dave Berry-esque relation that if you're going to eat fast food, you might as well go for the ghusto and eat as badly as possible. In college my regular 2-3 am meal was two tacos and a Jumbo Jack with cheese for $2.54.
@novacthall: I know a couple Jack in the Boxes here that accept multiple coupons, even though it says "one per customer". One manager told me they'll just ring it as separate transactions.
Also, FYI: I sent in the coupon for you guys to use.
@ChuckECheese: The Teriyaki bowls are back! I'm so excited about it. If only they would bring back my beloved Patty Melt.
PS. Has anyone seen a JitB taco look like the one up in the picture? All the ones I've ever seen are pinched closed around the top edge. Those look like Taco Bell tacos to me.
@Kimaroo - 20% More Kitty Added!: True, those aren't JiB tacos in the pic. In order to get those tacos in the pic to look more like JiB, the food stylist should step on them, then drag them through something greasy.

As an NYC girl I always thought Jack in the Box did burgers, like the eqiv. to a McDonalds. Are their tacos any good?
