Consumerist and Gawker Media, which hosts us, had some technical issues this week resulting in network-wide outages Sunday and Monday.
It’s premature to pinpoint the exact cause but it’s being investigating thoroughly.
For a bit of context, Consumers Union bought Consumerist from Gawker in January. As part of the deal, Gawker continues to provide hosting and tech support for us for up to a year after the sale. So, not too long from now, we’ll be transitioning from Gawker’s platform to our own. Besides being truly independent, it’ll also allow us to introduce lots of great new features for you that we’re very excited about.
