@Chris Walters: You know, I am considering buying a console for the bachelor pad. I am leaning towards a XBOX 360, mostly b/c I have an unnatural affinity towards Fable after playing it on the Ex's XBOX(one of the worst losses in the break up was the games I had saved on it).
Anyone else have any input on what the best console is for a light to moderate gamer?
@TheStateOnDVD2Day_GitEmSteveDave:
I would agree with a 360. I have that and a Wii, and I by far play the 360 more. I don't have a PS3, but from what I understand (and take this with a grain of salt) there is a larger library of games for the 360 vs the PS3. But, alot of them are FPS.
Still, I think that the 360 is the way to go.
So much for the Budget offer, at least up here in North Jersey. Entered my Zip code, dates (5-12th of August) and the BCD code. I got $339.99 for a week in a full-size car. I cleared the cache and re-entered the info without the BCD code and got back...$339.99. Called the Budget office and they didn't even know what that code meant.
@jeffs3rd: I have a 360 and a Wii, *never* play the Wii anymore. Hands down the 360 beats the Wii.
Don't have a PS3 so can't compare it to the 360 really.
I like that I have my Netflix acct connected to the 360 and can watch unlimited streaming video (although two caveats: you have to pay for the Gold Xbox Live membership to do this, and the streaming video library is fairly limited to old TV series and indie/old/foreign flicks mostly).
Also, rent or borrow Fable 2 if you can. They made it soooo "anyone can play" friendly that I felt it was too easy--it's no longer really a game and more of just a story you act out with the character. It's beautiful, but I enjoyed Fable a lot more than the sequel.
@Eyebrows McGee (now with more baby!): Honestly? I just moved to a new apartment, and there's a lot more sunlight here. I can't stop waking up at dawn each day.
Believe me, it's scaring me as much as you.
One of two things about Jos. A. Banks. As this is about the third time in 4 months that I have seen the buy 1 get 2 free deal, 1) Their normal prices are Highly, Highly over inflated, or 2) Sales are way down and they will be the next to file Ch 11.
While I think their prices for suits are high, I don't believe that they have a +70% markup on them where they can absorb the cost of 2 suits in the profits of 1. I I took advantage of their buy 1 get 2 free deal a couple of months ago and spent probably $1000, but I came home with 2 suits, 1 Tux, (including alterations) about 5 dress shirts, and 3 very nice pieces of luggage (Also buy 1 get 2 free). The retail for all of this was almost $4000. A week later, they sent me a $30 gift certificate.
@Rachacha: One thing to add about the Buy 1 get 2 free. They were not limiting it to 3 suits for the same person. I saw a family in the store and the father and his two sons were each getting a suit, so if you are the type of person wo only needs a suit for weddings and funerals, found up a couple of friends, pick out 3 suits and split the cost and you will have a really nice suit for less than a so-so one at Macy's.
@Chris Walters: I *suppose* that's a good excuse but I'm still suspicious. Next thing you'll be telling us you don't like cats and you're going to be blaming the OP from now on.
You can get Dark Sector from Hollywood Video right now for $5 I'd bet. The game is hardly worth that.
The Best Buy game deal is full of junk games that aren't worth $5 for 2 let alone $30! I bet you can get most of those used for less than $5 each.
The Walmart deal is the same as the Best Buy deal, except there are some good games. Thing is, they can all still be found right now at Hollywood Video used for $5 each, or wait until a Blockbuster B1G1 deal. Don't waste your money! Newegg also has several of these for $10 or less with F/S.
@jeffs3rd: @Chris Walters: Thanks for the advice. I always value informed advice vs. fanboy hootin & hollerin. Now if someone could tell me when the best deal on a XBOX 360 shows up, especially if it features a Fable, I'll be set.
Chris, did you try Fable:The Lost Chapters?

5 sets of morning deals, thanks Chris. BTW, my Boba Fett and X-wing Helmets came in, along with the Sith Infiltrator. Thanks again for the heads up on those.
