It's a Woot-off! Yes, it's one of Woot's fun sales events. As of right now, they're having some site issues, so either you get a fantastic sale, or you get an error message with Keyboard Cat. You win either way. (Thanks, GitEmSteveDave!)

Don't get me wrong, I've heard good things about Woot as a company, but I never understood why everyone makes a big deal of woot-offs. It's not like you can browse items. You're stuck with whatever cheap crap is lined up next.
Sure, you're going to find the occasional gem, but who can sit in front of the PC all day checking woot, hoping that something you want/need will come up?
@Eric Yokie: It's a fun way to pass the time for those of us tethered to our PCs by work. We try and make a game of it, guessing when the next Roomba comes up, or Sansa MP3 player, or Zune...
@Eric Yokie: Whenever there's a woot-off, I generally casually keep the screen up and check it once in a while. I wouldn't have spent $435 (includes the $5 shipping fee) for the Shun knives (though I do want them), but there are some good deals to be had here and there. Shun knives go for a lot more usually.
@Eric Yokie: I've never bought anything from them, but I like to watch the Wootoff. If you subscribe to the @wootoff Twitter feed and check Twitter regularly anyway, that's an easy way to keep track of them.
@Cogito Ergo Bibo: I have trouble with Woot's own website on my mobile, but for keeping up with the Woot-Offs, I like the slimmed down version of MyWoot here: [www.mywoot.net]
@Eric Jay: Thanks, Eric. I found several decent sites to monitor Woot, however my problem is actually buying on Woot. Their site throws my Blackjack II into a circular tizzy where I keep trying to log in...only to be routed back to the login page. Guess the answer is that they don't have a literal Woot mobile sister site. Or the other answer is that I need a better phone!

Awesome! Hopefully there's a Bandolier of Carrots at the end!
