already?
dang
Slurpettes?
I think I know of one about an hour away. Gotta go fill up my tank!
@frank64: lol!
And the US will fall into a massive sugar high that lasts about an hour (about half the span of what a regular slurpee produces) …followed by another hour of crashing into crankiness, then nap time.
@pecan 3.14159265: I’m pretty sure that’s the premise of the FlashForward series coming this fall on ABC.
Curses why did I have to move to a much better neighbourhood? I used to live right across the street from a 7-11! I now have buyers remorse…
Thanks for the head up, but chance is that it won’t worth your time/gas unless you happen to be near one.
How many stores will actually be participating?
@I Love New Jersey: 6,000?
All stores are required to participate, its in the franchising contract new owners sign.
Local one only gives away a handful and then cashes in on the people who drive across town.
Good thing I have 15 7-11′S within 6 miles of my house
. (Not really sure how they all stay in business…I live in Wawa territory and only one of the 15 sell gas).
There’s one about a mile from me with cranky management. May stop by if only to see how they’re handling the hordes. Best guess is they’ll be saying they ran out of cups by about 10 AM.
There have been a couple of times in my life (college, and when I was a working out of my home) that I went to 7-Eleven way too often. Now I live a safe four miles from the nearest 7-Eleven, and never go there.
But I have to drive by it tomorrow, so I’m tempted to stop in for my free Slurpee, for old time’s sake. Hopefully the sample won’t re-trigger my old addictions (which is exactly what 7-Eleven wants, no doubt).
Let’s just hope Oprah doesn’t mention it.
I stopped at one yesterday and got half a tank of gas first, then went inside and got my free Slurpee. This particular 7-Eleven was giving out free 22 oz Slurpees via presumably discontinued special cups (Hulk, Transformers, some others). It was awesome!
