Morning Deals are purely an informational service for the readers. Consumerist receives nothing in exchange for their posting.
If you have a tip for Morning Deals, send it to tips@consumerist.com, and be sure to put “morning deals” in the subject line.

896MB’s? That is a weird number for memory. It’s not even divisible by 24. I’d like to hear that explained.
@SetDipSwitchesTo_GitEmSteveDave: why is 24 relevant? 896 = 128*7. so it probably has 7 128MB chips or 14 64MB. i dont know how they structure those things, but there ya go.
@d★nger the pirate: Well, as someone told me years ago, a MB of memory is 1024. That’s why when you format a drive, it’s always less than it’s stated capacity, as they say a MB is 1,000 Bytes.
@TheyCallMeStacey_GitEmSteveDave: Gawker servers seem to have split Morning Deals into two alternate universes, one with the old Graphics Card link and one with the Boba Fett link. Here’s Boba Fett for those who can’t see it:
[www.techbargains.com]
@Chris Walters: YAY! But I have to spend $49 to get free shipping. But they also have the X-wing helmet, so I can do my Porkins impression!
I’m right with you red 3!
@Chris Walters:
I saw the Boba Fett helmet in the RSS feed, but on the webpage it’s the graphics card.
@Hank Scorpio: CURSE YOU NICK DENTON!
Thanks. I’ll let our Consumer Reports masters know.
@Chris Walters: Danm you Chris. I spent $57 on TRU.com just to avoid paying 5.99 shipping. I have a Boba Fett and X-Wing Helmet and a Sith Infiltrator. This will help me get chicks, rite?
@SetDipSwitchesTo_GitEmSteveDave:
So you spent over $30 dollars extra to avoid paying $6 shipping? Seems logical. (Although, I also considered getting the X-Wing helmet.)
@Hank Scorpio: Yes. I feel that when you pay shipping, well, the terrorists have won.
@SetDipSwitchesTo_GitEmSteveDave: I remember in the comments on the Tauntaun sleeping bag back in April, some guy said he and his wife have Star Wars sheets and love them. So… maybe? That’s proof they exist.
@Chris Walters: “They” meaning “chicks who don’t make an ‘I just tasted something sour’ face when they see your Star Wars collection.”
@SetDipSwitchesTo_GitEmSteveDave:
1,024 is a very common number when dealing with storage capacity.
1,024 Bytes = 1 Kilobyte
1,024 Kilobytes = 1 Megabyte
1,024 Megabytes = 1 Gigabyte
1,024 Gigabytes = 1 Terabyte
I don’t feel the need to go on after that but it does continue for a very long time (Spoiler alert: It’s infinite. =) )
As for 896 MB, I’d say d★nger the pirate‘s answer is most likely.
@Nick1693: Sorry to post twice, but *Hank Hill saying “aah!”* I copied and pasted the name in the link, but I don’t know why it shows up as a star (for me, at least.)
@Nick1693: It’s a special character.
@SetDipSwitchesTo_GitEmSteveDave: I don’t think it’s even a legit deal, as it links to a different listing. I have removed it and put up a Boba Fett collectible instead.
@Chris Walters: WHERE?!?! I don’t see it! I like Boba!
link is wrong for the graphics card.
try this one.
@d★nger the pirate: Thanks.
Online backup? No thank you. The few things I absolutely need to make sure I don’t lose are also the few things I need to keep secure.
@Moosehawk: You can upload a encrypted file/container to them, and it’s also encrypted on their end. I only say it as if there’s something that destroys the original, it’s a good bet it will destroy a back up, unless you have it in a fire/flood/etc… case or offsite.
@SetDipSwitchesTo_GitEmSteveDave: I have my ways. I’m actually both super paranoid about security and about losing things (I’m an IT Security major), so I keep serial keys to most of the software I own in text files on separate storage devices that I keep secure. I even keep offsite copies of them that are encrypted.
Awesome! I was just about to order business cards from MOO this afternoon. $20 off is a great deal!
@Terri Landis McAllister: MOO is expensive but their cards are gorgeous and high quality.
I also just found and added a discount code for OvernightPrints for people looking for a high quality but CHEAP alternative. I’ve used OP in the past and they’re very good, too.
Yay business cards for everyone.
@Chris Walters: I had them make the cards for my website using a picture Carmenn from Gizmodo took for me. IIRC, they were ~$24.00 for 250 cards w/shipping:
@SetDipSwitchesTo_GitEmSteveDave: Nice lava lamp on the headboard, sir.
@h3llc4t: Thank you. It usually turns on automatically at midnight, b/c the cam doesn’t have night vision, but the bulb burned out. There’s also a 48″ blacklight hung where the wall meets the ceiling.
TV is $229, not $209.
@SetDipSwitchesTo_GitEmSteveDave: I see, but the name looked like it was just an asterisk on the comment.
