I was THIS close to getting a couple of DSs from that link, before I realized.. I don't play my DS anymore anyway.

I still love my DS Lite. The homebrew carts make it a mighty force in handheld devices that don't have keyboards... It is hands-down the best time waster when you are forced to wait somewhere. I use it as an ebook reader, and the homebrew stuff lets you play all sorts of games - NES, SNES, GBC, GBA, DS, as well as homebrewed games directly. Not a bad deal for a little over 100 bucks...

user-pic

@orielbean: Agreed. Homebrew changed the usefulness of the device dramatically for me.

user-pic

@orielbean: Please share more about this mysterious "homebrew" thing.

I keep considering getting a DS -- ALMOST got one for labor, but I guess it'd good I didn't since I didn't labor -- but I keep deciding I wouldn't play it enough to justify the cost.

@Eyebrows McGee (now with more baby!): I love my DS, but where might I find these homebrew carts you speak of? I'm curious now.

user-pic

@orielbean: Where can I find homebrew carts? My DS is wasting away in a closet.

The Tire deal looked sweet until i went to my Size for my car on clearance for $150 ea. : ( I will have to bite the bullet as my MS3 is horrific in New England winter seeing it has summer performance tires stock

@Smashville: @Smashville: You need a flash cart first, like this one.

I've looked online and am a little unclear on whether or not flash carts violate the accursed DMCA, so buyer beware.

Once you have a flash cart, you can try out these free homebrew apps:

Colors: [colors.collectingsmiles.com] <--this is now an iPhone app that costs money, but it's still free for the DS. Turns your DS into a pretty nifty sketch/paint pad.
PiztogTD: [www.pdroms.de] <-- Tower defense game
Pocket Physics: [www.tobw.net]
GlitchDS: [www.glitchds.com] <-- music sequencer apps
Moon Books: [moonbooks.info] <-- ebook reader, movie viewer
DSftp: [giesler.biz]

Some other places:
[en.wikipedia.org]
[amplituds.drunkencoders.com]
[drunkencoders.com]

It's been a while since I've messed around with the DS and homebrew, so all of this may be a little dated.

@Chris Walters: Also, please no one post info about pirated game ROMs, as we don't condone that officially or unofficially.

Walmart: [Games] Buy 2 Get 1 Free on Select Xbox 360 Games (Five Titles)

Might want to correct that. :)

Just purchased that Nokia phone. My Samsung Blast from T-Mobile is having problems and I need a decent replacement. Was getting tired of the speaker working every now and then and hope this is more reliable.

Correction, I cancelled that order. I knew it didn't have a camera and had to think afterwards if I really didn't want to be without one. Got a blackjack II from newegg instead.
