There's definitely a Woot-Off going on up in this biznatch. [Woot] (Thanks to LadySiren!)

Yeah, and it definitely started yesterday. Way to stay on top of things. :P

user-pic

Woot-Offs always happen when I don't have any money :(

user-pic

No Bandolier of Carrots yet, although flashlights seem to be all the rage this time around.

user-pic

Only 1 day 11 hrs late... no worries, it's mostly been flashlights and expensive kitchen gear that takes forever to sell (the pictured mandolin being a prime example)

user-pic

I've been disappointed with the items on the last few woot-offs. Looking back over what I missed I would have only been interested in one or two of them. If something that might be good comes up you have to make a snap decision on whether it's worth it or not, so it's hard to make an informed purchase.

user-pic

Jeez quit your griping, it is still going on. I've seen four products in the past 20 mins already. Slicer is gone, flashlight is gone and on to a golf club.

user-pic

@hellinmyeyes: Yeah, I definitely got a reply from Laura at 4am yesterday about this after I submitted it to the tip email. Nice turnover, ha.

user-pic

@hellinmyeyes: Heh, I was just thinking that, especially as the woot their showing is currently on my "refresh" screen as I qwrite this.

Oops, now it's a golf club...

user-pic

Sellout was better yesterday, too. Woot has not been showing the love... though there's no better way to spend a Friday at work. One eye on the Woot, the other two on my spreadsheets...

;)

user-pic

@AlteredBeast: How about it- I was lucky enough to be funded for the December Woot-off, but that last two, flat broke (and this one started on my birfday, dag-nabby!)

user-pic

@hellinmyeyes: I actually submitted this yesterday but then retracted it because it almost seemed like the Woot site was broken. Every time I'd refresh my page (I refreshed it every 10 seconds or so), I'd get a different item but it would come up as sold out, so I emailed the team and told them I thought it was possibly a mistake.

When I went back today, the woot-off was still going on, so I let them know to check it out. Usually woot-offs only run for 24 hours, no? Anyway, I'm wondering if this is some sort of permanent thing now, given the message on the main Woot! page about the new sellout.woot site. If anyone knows, it'd be good info to have - I'm too busy (lazy) to go research it myself atm, sorry.

user-pic

I have given up on the Woot-Offs. Oh my excitement when I first discovered them, completely dashed whence I refreshed at just the right moment to see the mighty BOC first appear, and yet lightning fast with credit card in mine very hand and previously-logged-in account, I was denied. No more, I say; no more.

user-pic

The last woot-off was much more exciting than this one. Lots of garbage items that I've seen recently, and they keep clogging it up because, surprise surprise, nobody wants them. (okay, very few people, because otherwise they'd never sell, but still...)

user-pic

Umm... Sellout.woot isn't new. It's been around for a while.

user-pic

I never get the Bag. One time I came so close. I paid with credit card instead of paypal and it took forever. After about 20 minutes, it said the Bag was sold out.

Does paying with paypal for the Bag O' Crap help with speeding up your transaction?

I haven't bought much from Woot lately. They sell mostly useless junk that I won't use. I've bought some Razer stuff in the past which have been pretty good. I missed out on the Razer Lycosa and Lachesis. Those would have pretty good to have.

Currently, I own a Razer Lycosa, Razer DeathAdder, Razer CopperHead, Razer Daimondback, and Razer eXactMat. A lot of people have been saying this stuff fails on a regular basis but I haven't experience any fails yet (fingers crossed).

user-pic

@LadySiren: Nope. Woot-offs have been lasting almost a full 2 days for a while now. Can't remember the last 24-hour one.

Sellout.woot is something entirely different. It's a side-deal. Offered in addition to Woot's daily product or a Woot-off.

user-pic

@ngallion: Ah, didn't know that - I don't pay enough attention to the copy down below the items for each day. Good to know. :)

user-pic

@LadySiren: Check [woot.com] to see all the past woots. And yes, most woot!-offs last 48 hours(I've witnessed a 72 hour woot!-off), and end w/either Screaming Flying Monkeys(w/or w/o woot!-off lights), pocket kites, lube, and/or Bacon Salt.

The Random Bandolier o' Carrots usually appears at ~5pm EST on the last day of the woot!-off.

There are 4 "woots!" Shirt, Wine, Sell-out, and regular woot!.

user-pic

@Cogito Ergo Bibo: They've been doing the woot-offs about once a month now, it seems. Nothing really noteworthy, though. I haven't found anything on there in several months I'd give money for. I have noticed that the time individual products take to sell out is ridiculously short now, and the woot-offs are a good two days in length now, instead of just one day.

user-pic

@masterasia: The biggest thing to getting the BOC is getting past the servers. Once you press the big yellow final confirm button, you are usually golden. I myself have gotten two so far. The last one was thanks to using a tracker which has Auto-buy, and doing it from my work computer and my one at home through VNC.

user-pic

I had to try really hard not to impulsively buy a talking robot.

user-pic

@Woooot!-Offing_GitEmSteveDave: Thanks for the tip. I generally just cruise by quickly in the morning (yes, when I'm supposed to be working) to see what's showing. So far, I haven't found anything I can't live without, and haven't bothered to check the other Woot! sites. I spend enough money as-is, without Woot's help, TYVM. :)

user-pic

If anyone wants one of those kitchen mandolins, I recommend you pocket your wallet and just cut off the end of one of more fingers yourself.

user-pic

@hellinmyeyes: Well, the woot!-offs are sort of warehouse cleaning. The big problem w/BOC's, is that they usually send out stuff they can't sell on the site either for quantity or quality. So they may have 1 60" TV they will send out, or 10 Sansa's that were returned.

user-pic

@Lucifer_Cat: Shhhhh, it's wooters.us. You can set it so when a BOC comes up, it auto opens a window for you instead of you hitting the "buy" button. You still have to enter in all your info and do the confirms, but it helps. I wish I remember who told me about it, but I always track w/them now instead of MyWoot.net, who I used to use.

user-pic

@Ben King: Same here. but it looked very very annoying. The kind of thing that is very adorable at first but gets old really fast and then starts getting on your nerves.

user-pic

@DistortedViewListener_GitEmSteveDave: I understand what a woot-off is. I was meaning to say I haven't seen any item on any woot site at any time in the last year or so that's been worth my money. I did manage to snag a Broke Old Codger on there once that scored a few small, decent items. The most recent thing I'd purchased before that was three 2GB SD cards back when prices on those were still pretty high. The good items are few and far between these days.

user-pic

@Woooot!-Offing_GitEmSteveDave: It would be awesome if we had a "Forever Fleshlight" which gave 5 mins of blinding orgasmic pleasures for ever 30 seconds of stroking. The ones available are rather the opposite.

user-pic

Oh man I saw this pop up and was like "WHOA HALF OFF A SHUN MANDOLIN" but now there's some crappy camera on sale. Weak sauce.

user-pic

What, no one wants the $2.99 energizer iPod/iPhone battery charger?

user-pic

Man wish I could get one of those mandolins.

user-pic

@hellinmyeyes: I emailed them about it yesterday too, and they didn't even bother to reply. I guess they are sick of me emailing them things or something.

user-pic

Anyone else have the weird 1,000,000 shipping thing w/no coupon code like in the past?

user-pic

They are really throwing up the junk now.

I like woot off's because I have a ton of kids to buy bday and holiday gifts for hence my pirate shooting and robot purchases. But at this rate, I don't see much more I might buy.

user-pic

Spent the entire day camping the spawn, as it were, and as soon as I got up to let my boyfriend in and poor myself a glass of water the bag of crap came and went. Every damn time. It's like someone put a weight sensor on my chair and they watch it to see when I'm away from the screen.

user-pic

Is it just me or does that look like the old manual credit card imprinter? I was wondering where they all went. Nice to see them back.
