@GropedByChuckECheese_GitEmSteveDave:
Doubtful. I saw an episode of "Good Eats" where Alton Brown specifically called a rice cooker a unitasker and promptly threw it out the window.
@gStein: I used to use the MSA close fitting safety glasses from Home Depot as my goto sunglasses. They are impact rated, polarized, etc... and are 5.96 a pair. Goto a hardware store and check out their safety glasses. You can buy 4 pairs for about $20, and they are usually have a scratch coating, lanyard loops for keeping them on, and as I said before, rated for impact, unlike "normal" glasses.
@wgrune: Well, he ALSO once claimed that you should never ever add oil to the water you boil pasta in and wound up doing a 180 on it.
@GitEmSteveDaveHasAReallyLongNameThatgSteinIsMakingEvenLonger: someone shared this on IRC a few months ago - Making Meals in a Rice Cooker
o recipes, but talks about how to "hack" the rice cooker
@Applekid: I think he said that it doesn't cause the pasta to not stick, BUT it does help in boil overs. He also never uses it b/c he cooks pasta in a large enough pot to not have boil overs.

i'm in need of a new (cheap) pair of sunglasses, but the stuff on that site is all girly stuff :/
any idea where i can get a reasonable apir of sunglasses? (not wanting to spend much more than $5) (i lose/break stuff, and working at a summer camp, they're bound to get broken/stolen)
