Ah, HOPE. Too bad they cut HOPE for graduate students in my state.

Still, this will be useful next April.

So lemme get this straight: Paris Hilton pays more in taxes, while middle-class students get more support while earning a vital university degree?
Those mealy-mouthed, Socialist, Muslim Washington bas*rds!!

Oh wait. Strike that. I mean, YAY!!!

A TINY nod to current students. Why not do something to address the former students with loads of debt? My suggestion: A tax credit for premium payments in a given year.

    • Necoras says:

@holocron: Yes please. I have a decent amount of student loan debt between my wife and myself and it would be really nice to get some help paying off those. (I’d have paid much them off by now, but the interest rate on them is half that of my mortgage, so do the math)

    • oneandone says:

@holocron: Yes – or at least a tax credit for all interest paid on student loans. Right now it’s capped (at $2,500?) and if you’re aggressive about paying back a large loan, you’re going to pay way more than $2,500 a year.
