@pkoutoul: Same here, was going to buy for my fiancee and my mother, then read the reviews and said maaayyybbeee its best if they don't think I'm trying to get them killed...
@pkoutoul: Weird that all the bad reviews did not buy it from NewEgg, and the positive review DID purchase the kit from NewEgg.
@edwardso: me too. think it's because I am too old- the survey questions imply it's directed towards a younger demographic.
@jeteplumererie: Probably because they want to develop brand loyalty early on. I think tampons are one of the products where people decide on a brand and really stick with it their whole life. If you get the teenage girl market, you're set.
That said, they shouldn't weed out the older folk. What if I was trying to get the free sample to give to a younger sister/daughter/niece? Yes, I could send them the link, but I'd rather not encourage a teenager to fill out their details on an online form. Not cool, Tampax.
@oneandone: I got my friend to try a Diva Cup a few years ago and she switched to that permanently. Saves lots of money.
I'm not sure why I got obsessed with it. I think I just found it fascinating and felt like I needed to get someone I knew to try it out to tell me if it really worked. She said it does.
@Chris Walters: I've considered it, but my gynecologist said it probably wasn't the best idea for me. It's a shame because I hate the waste. Applicator free seventh generation tampons are a very good product though for any of the ladies looking to scale back the garbage
@Mr. Guy, Bocachica, and philmin: Of course you're all right that a pre-paid phone is the cheapest route for basic cellphone functionality. The LG Dare is generally a much more expensive phone, and to my knowledge this is the first time it's been discounted to basically "free" with contract. If you're in the market for a semi-smart phone, this is an affordable option.
I've long argued against subsidized phones, but the reality is unless you go pre-paid, you're going to have to agree to a monthly plan anyway to use the phone. Unless you anticipate jumping carriers (or just value that freedom and are willing to pay for it), you may as well use the subsidization to your advantage.
Prepaid plans are fine if you don't use your phone a lot... I use my cell for work and average 2000+ minutes a month, so I don't mind being under contract, I know I'm always going to need a monthly plan, with the added benefit of cheap nice phones.
Tracfone contract would cost me more than I pay under contract, with a crappier phone that I would have paid more for.
@Trai_Dep:
Well maybe when you compare it to a Shuffle, I guess all those functional parts like a screen and buttons uglify it up...
@cc82: I use my phone every day, and can't justify the $.99 daily usage fee. And honestly, even carriers that don't charge for the daily fee don't make it much cheaper because I use more than 100 minutes a month.
@cc82: Compare/contrast it with a Nano, then. Just on a design sense. And? Ugly!
I'm not a supporter of schoolyard violence, but if a milling gaggle of kids put a beatdown on a tyke for inflicting The Ugly on the entire campus, I'd be forced to applaud.
@Trai_Dep: It's a solid state player that's smaller than a Tic-Tac box.
Also, here to confirm that it has superior sound quality in testing when compared to the Shuffle.
Also, if you buy this player- do not lose the clip on the back. It's $15 for that piece from SanDisk and no third party manufacturer makes replacements.
@Blinky987: I call shenanigans for the simple reason that any company paying engineers to design something that fugly would be equally chintzy when paying sound and chip-design engineers.
And, doesn't "no third-party manufactures" sort of go without saying with all things Sansa? :P
@Trai_Dep: You're uninformed. I'm not trying to start an argument here (since no one will read this page after today anyway), but if you read the reviews, you'll see that the Clip's audio quality is phenomenal. It suffers in aesthetics, as you pointed out, but that's not the raison d'etre for most MP3 player owners.

YAY FREE TAMPAX! ... not really.
