Whenever I hear/see Orange Julius, I think of a SNL sketch starring Sylvester Stallone:

I wish there was video.

@WindySaturday_GitEmSteveDave:

That was brilliant. Now I need to find that video... lol

Anyone ever used "enercell" brand batteries? I always need extra batteries, so I bought like $40 worth of rechargeables and now I can't find em so.. uh.. so anyways, are these Enercells decent?

user-pic

@Radi0logy: Yeah, they're about as good as any other brand. In fact, RS pays about 10 cents a piece for 'em to be manufactured in China (or wherever), so they're still making a decent profit.

Now, Panasonic batteries are the brand to be avoided at all costs. Haven't gotten one that hasn't leaked acid all over everything yet...

Yay for the Slacker price cut. I have a G1, and while the G1's have their quirks, shall we say, the G2's are great, and the service is so much better than satellite radio (and cheaper).

Altec Lansing ipod speaker system deal is dead.

@chipslave: @Radi0logy: @Radi0logy: Yeah, when he starts mumbling saying Pentium, it is hilarious. I so wish I could find it.

What ever happened to Radio Shack's Battery Club? As a kid I used to get one free battery a month. Granted, there wasn't much I could do with a single D battery but if I was patient I could wait a month to get the second battery for my flashlight!

user-pic

@Radi0logy: CR did a report a few months ago about private label batteries and found that in most cases they are a better value than Duracell or Energizer. They may not last as long but because you're paying so much less it's a better deal.

Just make sure you recycle those dead batteries!

@runchadrun: Bring it to Shea and/or Yankee Stadium. The fans in the bleachers can find a good use for D-Cells.

Glaring ommision: Office Max has the Red Swingline Stapler on sale for $12 (40% off)

@runchadrun: Protip: You can save even more with a good set of NiMH batteries. Unfortunately they don't work so well in my Kitty Kat clock. Darn thing is going too slow.

user-pic

@runchadrun: They did away with that before the 90's when I worked there. Occasionally I'd get a fogey in there with the card and I'd give him one of the crappy green batteries because they quit making the even crappier red ones that the club was meant to give out.

user-pic

Damn Orange Julius changed their formula. Now it's all extra corn-syrupy crap. :(

"16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive $19 after MIR": Given the well-documented problems with mail-in rebates, maybe Consumerist should adopt a policy of not posting deals that require MIRs... even if it is just as "an informational service for the readers"?
